You can also send any complaints directly to the email address provided above. I, however, am not obliged to participate in a dispute settlement procedure before a consumer arbitration board.                                  

Cancellations, Bookings and Safety

Full payment is required at the time of booking your tour.  One-third of the total cost is non-refundable. The remaining two-thirds is fully refundable at any time up to 24 hours before the tour start time. If you prefer to switch the date of your tour at any time for any reason up until the tour date start time, I am happy to change your tour to any other date at no extra cost, assuming I am free that day. You can also give your tour as a gift to a friend anytime in the future as well, if you can't do the planned tour. If I must cancel the tour for any reason, such as illness or other unforeseen eventualities, I will issue a full refund within 10 days of cancellation.

If the weather on the day of the E-bike tour of Salzburg is either too cold or rainy to ride bikes safely or comfortably, we will simply switch over to the walk-city bus version of my tour to stay dry and warm, using umbrellas and rain gear.  If I, the owner, feels that anyone of my guests on my tours is unsafe or not fit enough physically or mentally to ride on the E-bikes safely and/or are unwilling to cooperate with my directions on the tour in order to stay safe, I have the right to switch over to my walk-city bus version of my tour at any time. Clients participate in my tours at their own risk. Tour participants must obey traffic regulations at all times (StVO). Sights of Salzburg Tours is not liable for injury or damage caused by willful or negligent behavior of tour participants. Participants must decide themselves if they are in a safe and competent state to be able to safely complete the tour.

 Sights of Salzburg Tours is not liable for any damage or injury caused to its tour guests or to other people or to any property due to insufficient working order of its own private bicycles or rented bikes from a local bike store used on the tour. Participants must check the working order of their bikes themselves before the tour starts, even though I check over each bike carefully before the tour for overall safety.

The protection of your personal data is of particular concern to me. I process your data exclusively on the basis of legal regulations (GDPR, TKG 2003). In this privacy policy, I inform you about the most important aspects of data processing within the framework of my website and tour services.

 

I collect, process, and use your personal data only with your consent or for a specific purpose related to my services as a tour operator.

• When you visit my website: GoDaddy's servers (where my website is housed in their headquarters in Arizona, U.S.A.) automatically store standard log files (IP address, date and time of the request, browser type, operating system). This data is processed based on its legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) in maintaining website security and functionality.
• When you contact me or make a booking: If you contact me via form, email, what's app or phone to book a tour or ask a question, I and/or GoDaddy, Paypal, Zelle, Wise or Venmo processes the data you provide (Name, Email, Phone number, Address, Booking details, Payment information, and physical requirements, if voluntarily provided for the tour). This data is required to fulfil pre-contractual measures and the tour contract itself (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR).

My website uses cookies to make my offer user-friendly. Cookies are small text files stored on your device via your browser.

• Essential Cookies: Required for basic website functionality (e.g., booking carts).
• Analytics/Marketing Cookies: (Used only for my website demographics tracking using Google Analytics, Google Ads tracking, GoDaddy tracking) I only use these with your explicit consent via the cookie banner. You can revoke this consent at any time.

I do not sell your personal data. I only share your data with trusted third parties to the extent necessary to fulfill my business operations:

• Payment Providers: [e.g., Zelle, Venmo, Wise, PayPal, my Austrian Bank] for processing your booking fees.
• Tour Guides / Partners: Necessary details (like names or specific health requirements you disclosed) may be shared with my substitute guides or other partner agencies (e.g., bike rental shops) strictly for executing the booked tour safely.
• IT and Hosting:   My website is hosted by GoDaddy, who may process technical data as my processor.

I store your data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes mentioned above or as required by legal retention periods. In Austria, invoices and accounting-related data must be stored for 7 years according to tax law (§ 132 BAO). Data related to liability claims (e.g., tour accidents) may be kept for up to 3 years or longer depending on statutory limitation periods.

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of Access: You can request information about the data I process.
• Right to Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to Erasure ("Right to be forgotten"): You can request the deletion of your data, provided no legal retention periods conflict with this.

• Right to Object: You can revoke given consent at any time or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
